Description
No Mice in the Kitchen turns a kitchen nightmare into a sharp little test of eyes and self-control. Only the chickens are allowed in, but the mice know it, so they sneak in among the birds and hope you will not notice. Noticing, and acting fast, is the entire game.
Mice pop up among the chickens and your job is to eliminate every one of them with a quick, accurate strike. The twist that gives the game its tension is the penalty for sloppiness: hit too many chickens by mistake and you are fired on the spot, game over. So every swing is a tiny gamble between speed and accuracy, and the kitchen never stops serving up new decisions at a pace that keeps you honest.
As a session goes on the pressure builds. The mice appear faster and hide better among the flock, the gaps between targets shrink, and your error allowance starts to feel very small indeed. What begins as an easy round of pest control becomes a genuine test of composure, because the moments that end runs are rarely the mice you missed; they are the chickens you clipped while lunging at a mouse that was already gone. Learning to absorb a missed mouse rather than chase it into the birds is the core skill.
A few habits keep your apron on. Wait the extra fraction of a second to confirm a target is actually a mouse before you strike, since the game's whole trick is making the two look similar under pressure. Aim at the edges of a crowd where a mouse sits apart from the chickens, because swinging into the middle of a cluster is how accidents happen. And set yourself a personal limit: if you have already made a couple of mistakes, slow down and protect your record instead of chasing a perfect clear.
No Mice in the Kitchen is great for players who enjoy reaction games with a real cost for panic. Fast, funny, and surprisingly tense once the kitchen gets busy.
